Blood tests are commonly recommended in early pregnancy and can provide important information about your health and pregnancy. During your consultation, we can discuss which tests may be appropriate for your individual circumstances and arrange referrals where needed.
-
Not every woman requires an early ultrasound, however ultrasounds can be useful for confirming the location of the pregnancy, assessing viability, estimating your due date and investigating symptoms such as bleeding or pain. We can discuss whether an ultrasound is recommended for you and arrange a referral if appropriate.
-
Absolutely. Many women use their early pregnancy consultation to learn more about homebirth and other maternity care options. We can discuss homebirth eligibility, continuity of midwifery care and the different birth care pathways available so you can make informed decisions about your pregnancy and birth.
-
Yes. I provide compassionate support for women experiencing miscarriage or early pregnancy loss. This may include education, options counselling, emotional support, follow-up care, telehealth monitoring and referral pathways where required. You do not need to navigate this experience alone.
